The Brief

To design a bedroom set to be shown at the Coronation Festival in a stunning mirrored house, set in the grounds of Buckingham Palace. The room set will represent KLC School of Design and showcase contemporary, environmentally responsible design using the products and skills of Royal Warrant Holders.

The Concept

The eco-fantasy concept was inspired by the fantastical setting of Scottish Lochs. Soft textures and playful design features were set against a dark, dramatic backdrop. We worked closely with a number  the Royal Warrants holders to design and make a number of items for the set and with luxurious organic fabrics, natural materials and sparkling LED light fittings were combined with creatively up-cycled items recalling the environmentally friendly aspirations of the design and adding unexpected, creative touches; ideas for visitors to steal. These whimsical touches were offset by by a soft, feminine glamour and dreamy suspended bed creating a design that celebrated the talents and innovations of the Royal Warrant holders with heart and heritage.

The team were wonderful ambassadors for KLC at the Coronation Festival and the success of the original and eye-catching roomset was the direct result of their hard work, effective concept development, problem solving skills, attention to detail and ability to charm everyone that they came into contact with during the project.
